milk run
I had to apply for a job this morning but woke to find no milk in the fridge. I nipped to the supermarket, crossed the road so I couldwalk under the trees in the picture below. Its very autumnal here. With caffine application done and now onto the housework.

shameful confessions
We all have our dark shadow side. My friend a very liberal law lecturer likes to read the Daily Mail on line 'The commenters are so right wing that I feel better!'
I confess to an habit of gossip & celebrity which I somehow can square completely with a devotion to being a treehugger. Every day I must visit gawker, defamer, and go fug yourself.
Now you know the truth....

Something weird started to happen to my face yesterday - it started to swell on the right hand side. I've phoned NHS 24 and they seem to think I'll live until tomorrow - when I can see my doctor. However during my useless unproductive morning I've been surfing the archives of the Shambhala Sun magazine. Highly recommended Bhuddist undoing!

Shed love
in Australia....
I have a shed - mostly storing half bicycles, paint and the barbeque but its the one thing which caused most envy when I moved here. I painted it in stripes along the wooden panels and is a very jolly feature now.

Haunting
The Photographers Gallery had a call for photos on the theme of haunting. I've just submitted this one. www.photonet.org.uk/hauntings
Go and submit your own. I have to say somewhat snarkily that I was unimpressed by the other submissions. You think a pile of ironing is haunting....

Yellow Cat
A few days ago my Polish lodger announced "I was very hot last night. I woke up and found a yellow cat sleeping on my bed."
"Marmalade" I interjected - I've got to keep him uptodate with idioms.
The resident cat Frida is an all velvet black girl.
"It must have got in through the window. I woke it up and it just looked at me as if to say 'I'm quite comfortable thanks - why are are you disturbling me?'"
Yesterday I found the 'yellow' cat in my kitchen on the counter behind the sink surveying life out of my kitchen window. Miss Frida was most unimpressed.
I asked if he was cold and wanted the heating on. He said he would be fine if the yellow cat came to sleep.

good stuff
Send your friends a Dylan message.
13 ways to be Bodaciously nice to yourself.
I've decided to be bodaciously nice to myself by going to cafes, writing postcards (crazy when there is a postal strike on but they will get to their destination eventually).
By seeing two yes two films in one evening The Kingdom and The Singer can't get much more of a contrast.
Spending the whole of Saturday in bed, daydreaming, listening to Radio 7 and napping with the cat - and refusing to feel bad about it.
Taking walks into the unknown and seeing a Adam designed house, two highland cows (one blonde one brunette) and a chestnut horse, the dappled light under the woods.
Taking leaps into the unknown and giving up my job to make space for new stuff.
